LOCAL HOTEL SET TO BUILD ON SUCCESS
Plans to add 19 new bedrooms to the Holland Hall Hotel in Upholland have been given the green light from West Lancashire District Council.
Hotel owner Ron Jones hailed the decision as great news for the local economy, as it will create over ten new jobs for local people and attract more visitors to the area.
The proposed two-story extension to the Lafford Lane hotel will take the total number of rooms to 49. The new rooms will be in keeping with the hotel’s unique style, which features 17th Century architecture with a luxurious modern twist including I-pod docks, DVD players and flat screen TV’s. The hotel also boasts 17th Century charms and features beautiful stone fireplaces and beamed ceilings.
Ron, said, “This extension is great news for Holland Hall and the local area. The new development means we can attract more people to the area and employ more local people.
“Over the last two years, Holland Hall has been through a major £1m makeover with a third function room and large garden terrace added. We are continuously updating and improving the hotel to meet the needs of our customers.”
The new bedrooms will also enable the hotel to meet the demand created by the increasing popularity of the hotel’s wedding, conference and banqueting facilities.
Holland Hall is also home to the newly refurbished Aspects Restaurant, which along with the comfortable lounges has already been extended to accommodate the increase in evening and lunchtime trade.
Aspects, named after the stunning views it offers of the surrounding areas, serves a wide range of dishes made from locally sourced produce to suit all tastes and dietary requirements.
