Hotel brews up for cancer charity
An Upholland hotel is helping Macmillan Cancer Support to raise their £8.5 million target, by taking part in the Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning.
On Friday 26th September, Holland Hall Hotel will be offering all visitors free coffee or tea all day, in return for a donation which will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning is a flagship fundraising event for Macmillan Cancer Support, which last year saw over 50,000 people hold a coffee morning to help people living with cancer. Together with their friends, families and colleagues, they raised an incredible £7.5million!
The target this year is over £8million, and Macmillan is encouraging all local groups to take part. So, if like Holland Hall you want to do your bit for charity, come along and join us on Friday 26th September and you will receive a warm welcome, and a chance to relax with good coffee and good conversation.
All the money raised will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support which needs to constantly fundraise in order to provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support for people with cancer, and to campaign for better research into cancer, and facilities and treatment for those affected.
Every pound really does count - Just £1 will ensure one more person receives leaflets giving them information on their cancer and where they can get support, £40 can help a cancer support group to hold their first meeting, and £184 could fund a Macmillan nurse for a day.
Holland Hall owner, Ron Jones, said: We are delighted to be involved in The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning, it's a great cause and we hope that as many local people as possible turn up and make a donation"
The coffee morning is just one of the local initiatives Holland Hall Hotel supports, and as well as working with local schools on healthy eating initiatives, the hotel recently held a fun day and farmers market in aid of Tawd Vale Lions Club, which raised over £1,000.
