LOCAL HOTEL’S SPORTING DONATION
St Thomas the Martyr Primary School in Upholland was celebrating this week when their football team received a brand new football kit courtesy of Holland Hall Hotel.
The kit which is in the schools colours of burgundy and pale blue was presented to the children and head teacher Craig Heaton, by Holland Hall hotel manager Colin Whittle.

Boys and girls aged 11 and 12 from St Thomas the Martyr Primary School play in the Skelmersdale Schools Association League which runs from Sept to April each year.
Head teacher and football team manager Craig Heaton said; “We are thrilled to have been provided with a new football kit from Holland Hall Hotel.
“We thought we would have to wait until the start of next season for a new kit so we could raise the funds but when the hotel confirmed they would pay for them we were able to buy them straight away.
“Playing football is not only fun for the children but helps them to keep active and healthy. St Thomas the Martyr promotes healthy living for children in a number of ways and football is only one of the sports we are involved in as the school also has a netball team and rugby team.”
Holland Hall Hotel which announced its’ commitment to the local community a few months ago have carried out a number of other activities in recent weeks, including a healthy eating event and a donation to a local church.
Hotel Manager Colin Whittle said; “The provision of the football strips to St Thomas the Martyr Primary School is the latest donation we have made to the local community.
“The hotel and restaurant is planning a number of other community activities over the coming months including a special Farmers Market and Family Fun day in aid of local charities this June. We are also working with local community organizations and offering the hotels facilities at a discounted rate or even free of charge.
Our restaurant, Aspects, is currently offering local charities special discounts and also has special offers for nurses and local emergency services representatives.”
Details of restaurant discounts for emergency services representatives can be found on Aspects' website: www.aspectsrestaurant.co.uk
